craft show 2012
Craft Show Application:
The application for the 2012 Highlands Juried Craft Show is now available on www.zapplication.org.
Zapp is a service of the nonprofit Western States Arts Federation in partnership with a series of fine art and fine craft fairs across the country. Through Zapp, an artist creates and maintains a profile and portfolio of images free of charge. With a click of a button, the artist can then apply to shows, fairs and festivals nationwide.
The application deadline was March 15, 2012. Late applications will be accepted until June 16, 2012 for a fee of $35. Applications taken after that date will be placed on a waiting list, if booth spaces are available.

The Jury Process
The Highlands Craft Show, like many established events of its kind, uses what is referred to as a “blind jury” process to select exhibitors. Each applicant submits four images: three of work and the fourth of the display booth. The jurors, a distinguished panel of local professional artists, scholars, gallery owners, and designers, view the images, assigning each artist a score from 1 to 5.
Once the viewing of images and scoring is completed, the Craft Show Committee will tally the numbers and build the lists of invites. Artists are invited according to their rating from the Jury; the only consideration given by the committee is to providing a balanced mix of media. |
