Make your 7-12 year old child's birthday party an 18th century adventure! The Birthday child and guests will have the opportunity to experience 18th century living first-hand. Starting with a tour of the mansion, children will then take part in activities such as butter churning & tasting, historic games and a craft that each child can take home.
During your party, a member of our education staff will lead your guests in several fun activities, such as:
- a tour of the mansion
- churning and tasting butter
- playing historic games
- dress up
- and making a craft to take home, such as
- an herb sachet
- a stenciled card
- an historical game
The activities children will do are based on things the people who
lived and worked at The Highlands from 1796 to 1920 might have done.
Birthday parties at The Highlands are appropriate for boys and girls aged 7 - 12.
- Parties last 2 hours, including time for cake or other refreshments.
- Cost is $175 for up to 10 children; $10 per additional child (including siblings) up to 15 children.
- A $75 deposit is required to secure your reservation.
- You must supply all paper goods, decorations and refreshments (except butter-making) for the party. We do have a refrigerator on site.
- We can not allow any decorations to be fastened to the walls of the mansion. Please also
understand that because this is a historic structure, we can not allow any open flame within 20 feet of the house (including birthday candles).
