Helping at events - Greeting visitors, pouring tea, scooping ice cream, leading 18th century children's games, decorating the mansion -- just a few of the jobs that will make our events special. They include The Highlands Craft Show, Tea and Symphony concerts, Community Open House, Hunt Breakfast, Christmas with the Sheaffs, and others.
Docents - The Highlands offers tours every weekday at 1:30 and 3:00 and needs to volunteers to guide the groups through the mansion and garden.
Fundraising - If you have a background or interest in fundraising, the Development Committee would appreciate your advice and ideas so that the restoration efforts will continue, and build.
Clean-up - Help remove trash from the roadside parts of our grounds.
Gardening - Our staff gardener needs help in weeding, planting, distributing plants, cleaning out overgrown areas. If you have trouble kneeling, you'll be assigned a stand-up job.
Office support - From time to time we need help with envelope stuffing, copying, data entry and typing, usually for just a few hours.
Community events - Help staff at a Highlands Historical Society table at nearby community festivals. It's a good way to meet people and also build membership.
