Story Time Tuesdays

January 28, 2020

We are excited to announce Story Time Tuesdays. Each week at 10:30 am, you are welcome to bring children of any age for outdoor story time on our garden terrace. If it rains, we will move inside the mansion. We had such a wonderful turn out for story time during the summer that we will be continuing year round. We are happy to promote the importance of reading to children in our community and will gear the fall session towards children under five years of age. We will also incorporate some singing and play time following the reading. Follow us on Instagram for up to date details @thehighlandsmansion

We will not be holding story time on December 10th or 24th. On December 3rd and 17th, we will be collecting new and gently used books to donate to Children's Hospital!  On December 31st, we will be having a Special Edition story time at 11:30 to celebrate Noon Years Eve with a balloon drop at 12:00pm!! Just $5 per child

Tea and Symphony I Sunday, March 1, 2020 I 2:00 - 4:00 pm

March 01, 2020

The Tea & Symphony Chamber Music program will showcase the Copeland String Quartet, which was formed in 2003.  Inspired by the dazzling and vast repertoire for small string ensemble, the musicians work in the intimate format of the string quartet.  The Highlands center hall, where the performance takes place, is precisely the type of setting that chamber music was written for, and is an excellent venue for the discipline and artistry of the music.  Teas, sweets, and savories are served during the intermission.

This year's program will include Lullaby by Gershwin, The Joke Quartet by Haydn and American Quartet by Dvorak.

Seating for this very popular event is limited and advance reservations are recommended.  Tickets will not be issued. A reservation list will be checked at the door.  Cost is $30.00 per seat for members of The Highlands Historical Society and $35.00 per seat for non-members.  The Highlands is handicapped accessible, and on-site parking is free.  Doors will open at 1:30. For more information, or to make reservations, please call 215-641-2687 or email Dana at rentals@highlandshistorical.org
